Studies are ongoing to confirm the benefit of Jaypirca for this use.<\/li>\n<li class=\"brand-grey\"><span class=\"pirto-dark-green\"><strong>Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) or small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL)<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0that has come back or did not respond to previous treatment and who have already received a Bruton tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitor medicine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col-12 \">\n<p class=\"brand-grey\">It is not known if Jaypirca is safe and effective in children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col mt-4 col-12 \">\n<h1 class=\"brand-grey\">Jaypirca is a\u00a0<strong>different kind<\/strong>* of BTK inhibitor for the treatment of\u00a0<strong>relapsed or refractory<\/strong><sup>\u2020<\/sup>\u00a0<strong>MCL<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>CLL<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p class=\"brand-grey\">Jaypirca, a\u00a0noncovalent BTK inhibitor, works differently than other BTK inhibitors you may have taken before. For MCL, it was developed to work after you have taken at least 2 treatments, including a BTK inhibitor. For CLL, it was developed to work after you have taken a covalent BTK inhibitor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"brand-grey\">*Jaypirca is the only FDA-approved noncovalent BTK inhibitor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"brand-grey\"><sup>\u2020<\/sup>Refractory is when your cancer doesn&#8217;t respond to treatment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"lds-isi-main-column isi col-12 col-lg-7 attached\">\n<div id=\"isiPanelIsi\" class=\"lds-isi-main-content-panel isi attached\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"ldsIsiColumnHeading\">\n<div class=\"lds-isi-content-container isi attached\">\n<div class=\"lds-isi-content-wrapper\">\n<h2 id=\"ldsIsiColumnHeading\" class=\"lds-isi-heading isi\">SAFETY SUMMARY<\/h2>\n<div class=\"lds-isi-content isi\">\n<div class=\"content-block lds-isi-warning-block\">\n<div class=\"lds-isi-warning-paragraph p\">\n<h3 class=\"lds-isi-warning-block-heading\">Warnings &#8211; Jaypirca may cause serious side effects, including:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Infections.<\/strong>\u00a0Infections can happen during treatment with Jaypirca. These infections can be serious and may lead to death. Your doctor may prescribe vaccines and certain medicines if you have an increased risk of getting infections. Tell your doctor right away if you have fever, chills, weakness, flu-like symptoms, or any other signs of infection during treatment with Jaypirca.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bleeding problems (hemorrhage).<\/strong>\u00a0Bleeding problems can happen during treatment with Jaypirca. They can be serious and may lead to death. Your risk of severe bleeding may increase if you are also taking a blood thinner medicine. Tell your doctor if you have any signs or symptoms of bleeding, including:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul class=\"mb-0 mb-md-3\">\n<li>blood in your stools or black stools (looks like tar)<\/li>\n<li>pink or brown urine<\/li>\n<li>unexpected bleeding, or bleeding that is severe or you cannot control<\/li>\n<li>vomit blood or vomit blood that looks like coffee grinds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col mt-0 col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul>\n<li>cough up blood or blood clots<\/li>\n<li>increased bruising<\/li>\n<li>dizziness<\/li>\n<li>weakness<\/li>\n<li>confusion<\/li>\n<li>changes in your speech<\/li>\n<li>headache that lasts a long time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Decrease in blood cell counts.<\/strong>\u00a0Decrease in white blood cells, platelets, and red blood cells are common with Jaypirca, but can also be severe. This may increase your risk of infection, bleeding, and anemia. Your doctor should do blood tests regularly during treatment to monitor your counts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heart rhythm problems.<\/strong>\u00a0Heart rhythm problems including atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter have happened in people treated with Jaypirca. Your risk for heart rhythm problems may be increased if you have high blood pressure or have had heart rhythm problems in the past. Tell your doctor if you have any of the following symptoms:<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul class=\"mb-0 mb-md-3\">\n<li>fast or irregular heartbeat (palpitations)<\/li>\n<li>dizziness<\/li>\n<li>fainting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col mt-0 col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul>\n<li>chest discomfort<\/li>\n<li>shortness of breath<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Second primary cancers.<\/strong>\u00a0New cancers have happened during treatment with Jaypirca, including cancers of the skin or other organs. Your doctor will check you for other cancers during treatment. Use sun protection when you are outside in sunlight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liver Problems.<\/strong>\u00a0Liver problems, which may be severe or life-threatening, or lead to death, can happen in people treated with Jaypirca. Your doctor will do blood tests to check your liver before and during treatment with Jaypirca. Tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any signs of liver problems, including stomach pain or discomfort, dark-colored urine, or yellow skin and eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Your doctor may decrease your dose, temporarily stop, or permanently stop treatment with Jaypirca if you develop severe side effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-block\">\n<p><strong>Common side effects<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul class=\"mb-0 mb-md-3\">\n<li>decreased white blood cell count<\/li>\n<li>decreased red blood cell count<\/li>\n<li>tiredness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col mt-0 col-12 col-md-6 \">\n<ul>\n<li>decreased platelet count<\/li>\n<li>decreased calcium<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>These are not all the possible side effects with Jaypirca. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects at 1-800-FDA-1088 or\u00a0<a class=\"lds-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/medwatch\" aria-label=\"www.fda.gov\/medwatch\">www.fda.gov\/medwatch<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-block\">\n<h4><strong>Before using<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Before taking Jaypirca, tell your doctor about all your medical conditions, including if you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>have an infection or have been advised that you are at increased risk of infection<\/li>\n<li>have had recent surgery or plan to have surgery. Your doctor may stop Jaypirca for a planned medical, surgical, or dental procedure<\/li>\n<li>have bleeding problems and\/or are taking blood thinner medicine<\/li>\n<li>have or have had heart rhythm problems<\/li>\n<li>have high blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>have a history of other cancers, including skin cancer<\/li>\n<li>have kidney problems<\/li>\n<li>have liver problems<\/li>\n<li>are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Jaypirca can harm your unborn baby. If you are able to become pregnant, your doctor will do a pregnancy test before starting treatment\n<ul class=\"mb-0\">\n<li>Females who are able to become pregnant should use effective birth control (contraception) during treatment and for at least 1 week after the last dose of Jaypirca. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant or think you are pregnant during treatment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"mt-0\">are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if Jaypirca passes into breast milk. Do not breastfeed during treatment and for at least 1 week after your final dose<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Also tell your doctor about all the medicines you take,<\/strong>\u00a0including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Taking Jaypirca with certain other medicines may affect how Jaypirca or the other medicines work and can cause side effects.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-block\">\n<h4><strong>How to take<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Take Jaypirca exactly as your doctor tells you<\/li>\n<li>Do not change your dose or stop taking Jaypirca unless your healthcare provider tells you to do so<\/li>\n<li>Take Jaypirca 1 time each day at about the same time each day<\/li>\n<li>Take Jaypirca with or without food<\/li>\n<li>Swallow Jaypirca whole with water. Do not cut, crush, or chew the tablets<\/li>\n<li>If you miss a dose of Jaypirca, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If you miss taking a dose by more than 12 hours from the time you usually take Jaypirca, skip the missed dose.
